Let 2014 be a year in which something big happens. Let it be a year of adventure; a year in which you think of something that scares you and you do it anyway because you can.
Get out of the comfort zone. Climb a mountain, train for a marathon, swim in the ocean, make new friends and try new foods. Stick a pin in a map and fly there. Gather your dreams and plan to make them happen.
Allow yourself to be changed for the better, moulded by new places and new people. Learn something. Do something that you’ve never done before but always wanted to.
Go somewhere new – the world is so much bigger once you venture out of your piece of it. Understand that once you take the first step, it’s easy. Love every second, but know that sometimes the most joyous part of leaving is the feeling of coming home again.
Remember that the journey is every bit as important as the destination. Discover that you don’t always need to leave home to explore. Know that everything will be ok so long as you try and you hope and you trust that pain is a teacher.
If you have a story, write it. Dance alone in your room to a song that you shouldn’t really love, but you do anyway. Sing, out loud. Go outside. Do things that make you happy; buy fresh flowers, read a book that touches you, cook a delicious dinner for people you love. Look up. The best things happen in the sky.
Take photographs, memories are precious. We only get one go at every day of this year – make them count. And may you look back at the end of 2014 and know that this year life got a little bit better, and long may it continue. Happy new year.
Amen to that Clare 🙂
Thanks for reading Rob, happy new year! 🙂
Love this and agree with the ‘ Look up. The best things happen in the sky.’ comment 100%!
I’m not sure what it was about 2014 but I seemed to stumble on a theme…just found your site, love the writing and thought you’d enjoy this:
