A lot about travel is unglamorous – the bugs, the hostels, the lack of shampoo. Part of the fun is letting go of material possessions, living with only what you can carry on your back and learning to re-prioritise experiences, places and people over the obsession with accumulating ‘stuff’ that dominates the consciousness of many Western cultures.
That said – it’s Christmas, and sometimes it’s nice to be treated, travellers included. I love to travel, but I also love beautiful things – I am a fashion graduate after all. I think there’s a line between function and beauty, and travel by its nature of discovery I think calls to people of a creative and visual nature.
So, just in time for ‘manic Monday’, here’s my top Christmas gift ideas for stylish, creative and design loving travellers – Christmas gifts for travellers 2013.
